This quote is something that I would often tell myself while growing up. I don’t know if it was the fact that my mother had always told me to be beautiful or what, but I always wanted to be beautiful. I wanted to wear pretty clothes and have friends ask me what time it was when they saw me walk by. As I got older, I began to grow more comfortable with who I was, but I still looked at life through rose-colored glasses.
Then one day, something happened that changed everything for me. It was a simple word. One you hear everyday in different ways…beautifulSomeone told me that being beautiful did not have anything to do with being perfect or being skinny or having long hair or being tall or anything else.
What was important was just being yourself and being unique. This one word changed everything for me. It made me stop comparing myself to everyone else and just accept myself for who I am.
It made me stop worrying about what other people thought and just go out and love myself for who I am because that person can see exactly what is wrong with them even if they don’t know it themselves.
